In Nicholasville, commissioners are citywide representatives, rather than representing a specific district or group. Commissioners make laws, ensure that they are carried out and perform administrative functions. All City Commission members were elected in 2008 and will serve through 2010. The mayor, who serves a four-year term, is a fully participating member of the commission and can vote on all matters.

Members of the Nicholasville Board of Commissioners include (from left to right): Andy Williams, Commissioner, John Collier, Commissioner, Russ Meyer, Mayor, Betty Black, Commissioner, and Doug Blackford, Commissioner.
Commission meetings are the first, second and fourth Monday of each month at 5 p.m. at City Hall, 517 Main Street.
