Nicholasville is at the heart of my family’s life. That’s why I take such pride in our community and selected downtown revitalization as one of my priorities as mayor.

With that in mind, we have launched a significant multi-year plan that will highlight downtown’s best structural features, add visual appeal to streets and sidewalks, and showcase our community’s personality and interests though shared spaces, such as parks and a community center.

This transformation is possible because your city and county public officials are working together in an unprecedented joint effort on the Nicholasville Downtown Master Plan. The process has included community input, research, design and much discussion over many months. The initial master plan recently was presented to the City Commission and Fiscal Court.

The design is beautiful and extremely functional. It captures the heart of our community and brings it to life within a 9-block area of downtown. It can be phased in over time, but we are not wasting any time in initiating action. Keep up with progress through our “Nicholasville Downtown Master Plan Update” section we will add to our home page.

In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you soon on Main Street.
