History
The Nicholasville Police Department was formed February
8, 1812, the same day the city was incorporated. The office
was on West Oak Street until the current location was
built in 1984. In all the years the NPD has served the
community only one officer has been killed in the line
of duty. Officer Paul
Ketron was shot to death while responding
to a domestic violence call in 1941. The most recent officer-involved
shooting occurred in 1995. |
