Chief's Message

On behalf of the members of the Nicholasville Fire Department, I am pleased to welcome you to our website. These pages have been developed with the goal of supplying you with timely, up-to-date information pertaining to the many services we provide. We are a multi-faceted organization that like most modern, dynamic fire departments, serves our citizens in many ways. As we like to say, "we’re not just a fire department anymore."

The history of the Nicholasville Fire Department dates back to 1835 when the city first established a formal volunteer force to help protect its citizens and their property from the ravages of fire. Today, we are a fully-paid department comprised of 46 sworn, full-time members and one civilian employee who provides around-the-clock protection for the 27,000 residents within the city limits of Nicholasville, Kentucky.

We take great pride in developing and strengthening our abilities and continually reach for higher levels making sure we can meet the challenges placed before us each and every day. The way we see it is, when you require our services, you have no other choice of who to call; therefore, we must be the best that we can be for you- our customer.
