On behalf of the members of the Nicholasville Fire Department, I am pleased to welcome you to our website.
We hope you find it informative and helpful. These pages have been developed with the goal of supplying you
with timely, up-to-date information pertaining to the many services we provide.
The history of the Nicholasville Fire Department dates back to 1835 when the city first established a formal
volunteer force to help protect its citizens and their property from the ravages of fire. Today, we are a
fully-paid department comprised of 49 sworn, full-time members and one civilian employee who provides
around-the-clock protection for the over 29,000 residents within the city limits of Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Our mission at the Nicholasville Fire Department is to provide the highest level of professional service to the
citizens of Nicholasville and its visitors that pass through our community on a daily basis. We embrace this mission
head on with enthusiasm and a true desire to serve.
The fire service in general has shifted from the more traditional roles of fire suppression and rescue to an all hazards
approach, which means we have to be prepared to handle any situation we may be called to. The members of the Nicholasville
Fire Department work tirelessly to meet these new challenges, with an emphasis on not only how to better prepare ourselves
for any eventuality, but also on how we can better serve our community.
In Service,
Mark D. Case
Fire Chief
