The City of Nicholasville’s Water Department will be conducting a routine water main flushing program. The main flushing program is conducted in the Spring and Fall to clean the distribution system of any sedimentation, which may have built up in the mains.

Some residents may experience a slight discoloration of water and/or a short period of low water pressure. The Water Department reassures customers that the water is safe to drink. Customers should allow their water to run a few minutes to clear up any discoloration, which may occur. It is not advisable to wash clothes while the water is discolored because of the possibility of staining.
